Christ the Savior is Born!

Christmas eve is always a beautiful night as we gather together in authentic community to celebrate the birth of our savior. One of our people told me she looks forward to circling up by candlelight to sing “Silent Night” all year long.  As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we also celebrated the one year anniversary of the very first worship celebration as a community of faith.  We had a children’s moment where a young girl told me all that Jesus wanted for his birthday was me/you.  From the mouth of babes!  We reenacted the manger story with a Mary and a Joseph who both had red hair.  Unusual but wonderful in its own way.  As we grasp the beauty of the real reason for Christmas, let us not lose sight of the wonder of that night in the business of our lives.  May we grasp ahold of the moment of holy mystery and hold it close to our hearts.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the new emergency fund for stranded travelers.  We also give thanks to those of you who gave a blanket for our homeless neighbors.  May we be so generous every week of the next year.
