On Wed, November 20th, I awoke too early and decided to check my email. In it was a response to a grant I had applied for and we had been approved for just over $12000. This money is designated to marketing in our area. It is traditional marketing like billboards, postcards and radio. Things we have not attempted in any way to do about our new church or coffee shop. It is a wonderful and joyous thing! Now the work begins.
We have to nail down the artwork to meet all the deadlines. We have to script the radio ads. We have to research options. And it all needs to be done yesterday! In addition to the obvious, we need to make sure we are ready to have guests come. As a small community, we have settled into a rather casual routine and have not deliberately trained for welcoming. We have had guests and I feel like we did a good job but we haven’t been intentional about things. So now we must! and it must be done quickly!
If you know someone who doesn’t go to church or left the church for some reason, please invite them to join us. We are so different then anything else they have experienced.
