The Glow of Love

The Next 10 Days

This is our last Sunday before Lent begins and we will be celebrating the center of the book of Mark when Jesus is transformed on the mountain top.  This moment reminds us of Moses encountering God in a burning bush on a mountain and Elijah being taken up to the heavens from a mountain top.  Our lives are full of mountain top experiences and it feels so good to be in the beauty of those moments.  But Jesus asks us to go from the mountain back into the valleys of our lives where people get hurt and disappointed and dirty.  We will be considering this Sunday and what it means for us.

FAT TUESDAY PANCAKES- Thank you so much to Bill Nygard, Chris Morgan and Peggy Whitworth for your very generous donations to purchase the groceries for the Pancake dinner.  The Lund’s have promised us Blue Gold sausage so we know the food will be delicious!  If you have time to come by and help us serve on the morning shift, we would welcome the help. Eric and TL have generously offered to play live music during the dinner shift.  I’m looking forward to seeing the community gather in our lovely space and I hope to give tours around the building.  Please invite others who may be hungry to help feed those who go hungry regularly.

ASH WEDNESDAY- Feb. 18th, Our youth will be leading this service of contemplation and remembrance.  It will be the official start of our Lenten Journey.  We are adding a study called “Renegade Jesus”  and you are invited to join us for Sunday mornings 8:40-9:40 or Wednesday nights at 6:30.  We have ordered the children’s curriculum but still need teachers for them to participate.  All ages, children, youth and adults can participate on Wednesday evenings and we look forward to growing in our faith together as we walk to Easter.

I hope you will make time to grow in love this Lenten season with me.
Blessings,
Heather
